Missing drive oil bottle ???

Just to follow up...
I got into the boat last night between rainstorms and looked at the transom.
There is a place to put a fitting, but it's plugged-off... so it appears this boat was never equipped with an oil bottle.
I have a used one coming from ebay anyway... so if there's a way to make it work, I might just try to upgrade to the bottle setup. It would be for peace of mind if nothing else... knowing there is oil in the drive and no leaks.

In other news... I managed to get a dehumidifier into the boat and put a cover on to keep the weather from sabotaging my restoration efforts. I think this boat has been out in the open weather for years.
Thank God Mariah built a solid, well-sealed boat. The floor is still solid enough that I can dry it out and dump a bucket of resin over it.

I figure it will take a few days/weeks of the dehumidifier running to completely dry it out.

A friend of mine got divorces and had the aluminum canoe. She said she wanted it so he ran it over with the tractor flattening it. He said come and get it. She pulls in see's it and leaves.....lol

On the older Gen ones without one it wasn't much of an issue, especially if it is a trailer or lift kept boat. I would just check the level up top and bottom for any water or metal a couple times during the season.

And she let you keep the boats? Wow.... (Normally ex-s tend to take the toys as well as your balls.)

I don't think they take the project boats... only the shinny ones.

Yeah i think this boat spent most of its time on the trailer. Its only a little 19ft Mariah.
I need to pull the drive and go thru all the maintenance items anyway.

My wife cant drive a boat anyway. Thats kinda why I got this little beater boat. Its a good size to teach her on and if she whacks a dock I wont be too upset.
The 24ft Chaparral is alot more boat and in much better condition. I cant allow that one to get wrecked or damaged. She already dented the tailgate on my '20 Tundra from jack-knifing the boat trailer in a situation that didnt require turning the steering wheel or using reverse.
I also have 21yr old kids that need to learn... so this little boat will be a great trainer.
