Minn Kota Maxxxum54, 12Volt or 24Volt?

I just inherited a Minn Kota Maxxum54 trolling motor with 54 lbs of thrust. Serial # is MKJI1071683. Anyone know if this is a 12v or 24v motor? I can't find anything on the motor that says what the voltage is. Also, do I need to install a fuse in the positive cable, and if so, what size?

I have determined from the serial # that it is a 1998 year model. I have looked this motor over from top to bottom and have found nothing about voltage.

I have read that the maxxum54 came in either 12v or 24v. There is no way of telling by looking at the motor.

You have the serial number so a phone call to Minnkota support is the logical place to get your question answered.

I had same siuation a few days ago called minn kota they could not reference my sn but told me to remove the prop and sure enough there was a decal that said 24 volt
