Mercury thermostat issue

Hey guy I have a 200 HP Mercury efi I'm working on cooling system shop rebuilt lower unit installed it was not pumping out tell tale broke down unit seems like impeller wasn't not changed I ordered a new housing with a new kit hopefully this will work but if it does not I recently found out I have 2 thermostats port and stbd will it hurt anything running motor without them

That motor likely has a poppit valve, low on the powerhead, starboard side. It is supposed to open as motor speeds up to allow more water flow than thermostats can give. You might check it.

You can test thermostats or just replace them. They do not last forever.

Yea defo thermostats

put t-stats in it......

Definitely on my to do list having trouble finding them online can I leave them out temporarily just to make sure water pump is working I would think having thermostats would only matter in a much colder environment like up north but I will replace them just want to make sure water pump is working

Thermostats are critical to the EFI models must have them no matter the temp. Yes you can run the motor without to make sure the waterpump works.
