mercury engine harness

I have a mercury 9.9hp 4stroke big foot 2003 has a kicker and i have a quicksilver 3000 classic remote control with a 8 pin round plug,my problem is the engine side plug is missing with the harness that goes on the plug,so i am looking to buy that plug and i like to know what model to buy and where.

From the parts diagram it looks like you can only hook up the shifting part of remote as there is no attachment to the internal harness for the remote on this engine, that why you cannot find where to plug it in...

I guess then i just have to cut off the plug and put some terminal on the wires and hook it up.

Can i buy just the 8 pin female plug tha will fit the male on the commander 3000 and i can solder the wires to make the harness
