Can someone confirm that a Mercury 4000 gen 2 panel mount control, part # 8M0011214 will work with my 1997 Force/Mercury 90hp outboard w/tilt and trim?
Imafishingfred - Did you ever find out if the Gen II control fit the 97 Merc? I'm in the same position . I just bougt a 1999 Merc 75 outboard and it came with the side mount controls. Have it in the shop now swaping a 20 HP with a flush mount controls. I'll let you know but I don't see how it's ever going to look good?
