I will try to keep thi short. i picked this motor up a couple of years ago and it has never seemed like it would open up to full throttle.the serial number reads 1933260 i got some manuals but could not find the model 950 in any of them. i have replaced the primer bulb, all hoses that were bad rebuilt the feul pumps and cleaned the carbs. I also wanted to set the timing but not sure how, will the one from clams work? and from this short discription does anyone have any ideas.. thank you in advance

iwas told that also before but too many people told me the prop was fine I think it is a 13x19 will check to make sure. the motor just doesn't seem to open up. you know how when you here an outboard going wide open the nice sound it makes, mine only sounds like its at 1/2 throttle,i also checked and the butterfies are opening all the way.

For correct performence, a tach is a mandatory device. You need to run
around 5500 rpm, max. Now if you don't have a tach, you can't tell your true rpm. If your prop setup is wrong, another prop might increase your rpm, getting you close the correct rpm. IF everything is ok on a motor, and it has a poor prop set up, it will not run right.
First do the link and sync of clams, then see what happens. do all the basic checks, ie compression, spark, link n sync. IF all that is correct, look to your prop.

i am not sure on the wieght of the bot it is a glastro fish/ski model from around the 80's im not positive about the year. someone had given me this boat and info plate with this information was in such bad shape i could not read it (also causing some problem getting it legal) so to make it a short answer i really don't know
