mercury 9.9 4 stroke manuals

I have a Mercury 9.9 4 stroke, 2007, that idles very slowly, and dies until it's really warm. Otherwise, it runs well. What's a good manual to buy to troubleshoot this as well as do general maintenance. The motor looks practically new so it has probably just sat with gas in it too long.

I think the05 has the same carb as the 07. Idle should be set at 850rpm in gear under load. The 05 carb has small idle circuit passages and can get messed up just sitting with gas in it. Really needs to be soaked submerged in a strong carb cleaner. I have been able to clean mine and reassemble without a new carb kit ($65.00) although i recomend getting one. It is a good little carb once it is cleaned.
Very little trouble over five seasons. Drain the carb if you aren't planning to use it for three weeks or more.
