mercury 75

just had a new stator and trigger fitted.and the stator is starting to melt again.what would cause this.

Hello and welcome to iboats.

Just so you know, "Mercury 75" could mean that it's a pre 1979 7.5hp engine or a post 1979 75hp engine. Could you give year also?
