Mercury 50 HP 4 stroke water pumps

I have a 2014 50 HP Merc 4-stroke and the engine isn't peeing out the back. The boat only has about 40 hours on it. Any ideas what might be causing it?

Forgive the opening commentary, but I was just on the iboats.com Force engine forum suggesting a guy with a propeller question go to the Prop Question forum. Now I'm going to suggest you go to the Mercury engine forum. Your question is much more about the engine than about pontoon boats. You'll likely get better and quicker responses there.

My experience with those lines as a rule, is that they do plug occasionally. No pee means it needs attention (right now!), does not automatically mean pump is bad.

Check for Mud Dauber packing.

Plus 1 for mud daubber nest, it's the right time of year. Clean it out with a pipe cleaner or a bread bag twisty.
