Mercury 175 2.5L Outboard Alarm Activation

[FONT=&quot]Greetings all, I am new and have just joined this forum!

I have a 1995 Mercury 175HP Outboard that is in alarm. When I turn the key to the on position the alarm initially sound 3 times then stops. (I have left it on for over 1 minute and it does not sound) After starting the motor the alarm continues to sound.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]I have changed the water pump with a complete kit and put in new thermostats. Still alarms! (Note: telltale was sporadic when idling with flush muffs attached.)[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]I checked the float on the oil tank. Used ohm meter and read correctly when float was lowered.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]I drained the fuel separator (which did have water in it) and replaced it with new filter. Still alarms![/FONT]

After starting the motor the alarm continues to sound

Rapid on and off beep (not solid on) after motor is running is 1) oil pump stopped rotating 2) low oil (you checked)
