I always put the filter between the tank and bulb so trash doesn't get into the check valves.
I wouldn't use that filter on the pics, it has a glass body. I use a filter like this and feel safer. And ypu can see the fuel flowing through the filter.
Make sure the inline fuel filter is at least 5/16" ID. 3/8"ID is better. Install the inline filter after the primer bulb and before the quick disconnect fuel line fitting.
