Mercury 1150 1980

I want to buy a boat with a 1980 1150 mercury motor. I know nothing about boats. Are those good engines?

It was when it left the factory.-----Now after possibly 4 owners you need to inspect the motor.----Take it for an on the water test run.-----Install a new water pump impeller if you do buy it.

Keep in mind its 40 years old. A lot can happen in 40 years.

I have a 1984 merc 115. I love this little inline 6, it runs really good. Yours will be pre prop shaft rating so its actually more like a 90 horse fyi
