Mercruiser y pipe corrosion

Has anyone tried powder coating or other techniques to minimize corrosion on the lower flange area of the aluminum y-pipe, which lives in bilge water and outside raw water? This $1000 part requires pulling the engine to replace!!

Have not heard of anyone doing so but the pipe is cast iron

Perfect seal/gasket sealer on the flange mating surfaces/o ring and sealer on bolt threads when assembling

Y pipe and gimbal housing are both cast aluminum. Bolts are stainless hence the sealer
