How loud is the slave solenoid compared to the starter solenoid?
I'm asking this because I have a problem I need to resolve. My boat doesn't always turn over when I turn the key, but there's always a small click from the engine compartment (doesn't seem loud enough for a starter solenoid though) and the volt meter on the console always drops like there's a lot of power going somewhere. "Jiggling" the throttle nearly always gets it to turn over though. When that doesn't work doesn't, swapping to both batteries does the trick. It's only really a problem when the engine is cold. The batteries are both good and have a full charge. Once the engine starts cranking it does so very quickly. I'm thinking there might be a bad/intermittent connection in the neutral safety switch and the slave solenoid isn't getting enough voltage or maybe the slave solenoid is just going bad.
