Mercruiser 496 MAG 2005 Troll Control

I just bought a 2005 Searay Amberjack with a Mercruiser 496 MAG engine. The smartcraft guage has the Troll+ and Troll- buttons, but when I press them, it says "troll control not available".
Can anyone tell me if Troll Control is an option on this engine and if so, how difficult it would be to add it and what sort of RPM range I could expect?

Might want to add the Mercruiser serial number for your engine. There very well could be a serial number break between the ones that have it and the ones that don't. Boat year is meaningless.
