I just bought a boat with twin 470 mercruisers, I'm having a electrical issue on the starboard engine that is driving me bonkers, the engine will turn over with no spark, if i attempt to jump a wire from the battery to the positive on the coil, the engine will not turn over, if i disconnect the wires to the electric choke the engine will not turn over. Sometimes,,, not always, if i jump a wire on the ignition, from the battery and the solenoid, while engine is turning, turn on the key, and the engine will fire. but not all the time. When the engine is turning over, it seems like the tach is trying to turn backwards.... anybody have any ideas????
