I have a 2001 vintage Mercruiser 350 Horizon that will only run for a short while before dropping rpms below 2100 and running really rough and finally dying. The cooler the engine, the longer it will perform normally. Give it a 30 minute rest, and it may run for about 20 minutes before choking off again. Mechanics have checked fuel pressure, computer codes, and ignition spark to no avail. Seems to be related to temperature somehow, although no alarms are sounding for engine temp., transmission temp. or oil pressure loss. Gauges read normal operation. For what it's worth, this all started when I wound a lobster warp around the shaft and produced a similar situation. Shaft is clear now. HELP!
