Hello, I am coming to buy the engine mercruiser 3000 L from 145 hp years 1998, and is a good engine? Has problems origin construction? Has some weaknesses?

The 3.0L engine has been used by OMC, Mercruiser, and Volvo since the 70's in one form or another.
It's a strong running motor and with reasonable care an maintenance will last for many years.
