well it has been sitting for 3 years and i just put new headgaskets in it end of last season but never ran it. one of the techs i work with says that the old fuel can cause part of the problem. i have 90 90 90 then 60 in last cyl
Sea Foam won't do anything for compression, but can't hurt. Some people will hate this suggestion, but I have had some luck using a product called Restore to raise compression psi. You never want to count on mechanic in a can, but I have seen good results so might be worth the 6-7 bucks it costs.
where do i get that from? id just hate to tear engine apart because i just put all brand new gaskets in it and they are about $100 i put hi-tac on them so i know they will be junk
I'm with bruce58. after an engine sets that long it's a waste of time to do a compression test.
I have done compression tests on engine with similar (even worse) results than you have, after running for only 5 minutes the compression was normal.
Start it up, get things moving and freed up and it may be fine.
Even rust spots on the valves will cause low compression like that. But running for even a few seconds would clean it out.
