Yes. The Evinrude will be happier lugging a big 'toon. Make sure you prop it to peak around 5500 RPM, though.
The Merc i6 90 is a Plowhorse of an engine, extremely strong bottom end, but it really gets asthmatic above 5000 rpm(small intake and exhaust ports and fewer reed valves. The 110 Evinrude, if it has the bubble/turtle back exhaust cover is very similar to the crank rated 140, and that engine is ported and exhaust tuned to breath better above 5000 rpm, with a reduction of torque at low speeds. The crank rated evinrude 140 was best suited for light fast hulls, on big heavy hulls, it really didn't do much better than the crank rated 115
A tach for either engine would draw it signal from the Alt.
