merc.,mariner or force

I might buy a 2004 75 hp motor with tracker colors and am wondering how to tell what it really is,merc, mariner or force . Is there an easy way to tell? should it tell me under the hood or will the model number be needed to find out? THANKS

It is NOT a Force, that product line was discontinued long ago.

Most Merc/Mariners of the similar models are virtually identical except for the decal package installed.
