Merc 90 2smoke wont fire

Merc 90 2 smoke , rebuilt the fuel pump and submerged carbs and hit it with the compressor. Starter spins fast enough but won’t fire only fires with starting fluid. Any help ?

Carbs could still be dirty. Are you choking it? is the cold start lever or throttle only button being used?

Any fuel present in the carbs after turning over? Check float height in carbs. Check needle valve in carbs. Confirm the fuel pump was put back together correctly after rebuild( ask me how I know LOL).

What exactly is the cold start lever, and when i push the key in on the ignition should i heat that enrichment valve? I dont hear anything

I only changed the diaphragms correctly i didnt snip those plastic pieces… if you know what im talking about
