To the best of my knowledge they just use muffs, no screw in needed.Working on a friends 9.9 (1994) I think. Cleaned the carb and replaced the fuel lines. I want to run it out of the river so I need to know what kind of fitting screws into the lower unit to hook up to a garden hose.
All the videos I've seen are using a hose screwed into the lower unit. Can't see where muffs would work. Thanks. To the best of my knowledge they just use muffs, no screw in needed.
Never worked on Mercs, only Johnson/Evinrudes. Not seeing any screens on either side, only one just above the prop. Probably put it in a barrel.Should be a pickup screen on each side of the lower unit, muffs clamp around the lower leg and pushes c water into those screened openings. I only found videos for news models.
Same here, I currently have my first Merc ever other than my I/ONever worked on Mercs, only Johnson/Evinrudes. Not seeing any screens on either side, only one just above the prop. Probably put it in a barrel.
I put a chalk mark about 8" above the pump so the owner could run it in a barrel. Supposed to pick it up today.Easiest thing is to find a garbage can that is big enough to put the water 6" above the pump. The intake is above the prop on those.
