hey guys. i have a 1980's merc 200 20hp. in colder conditions it seems im running on one cylinder. warmer days runs great. is it possible a coil is bad? any help would be appreciated! thanks!
excuse me not an 80's model i think its a 71 year model serial # starts
449xxxx. still having issues i think coils are going bad. or fuel pump seems odd some mornings it runs and some days it doesnt. im gonna rebuild the carb and fuel pump today. im still puzzled and have my doubts if the carb is the issue.
Do a compression then a spark test.Always include the full serial# if possible.
Ethanol is a problem. It's delaminating the older hoses and ruining seals/o-rings.
The fuel pump could be bad and the carb need cleaning.
Do the tests and check the fuel pump.
Change all the hoses to newer hoses and a new squeezie.Get rid of inline connectors.J
