I have a 2004 17' bowrider and a 2004 115 opti which runs rough at trolling and full out. Mid range is smooth. Dealer has offered to take a look or I have the option to switch engines to a new 2003 115 four stroke<br />Any comments on my choices?

Ditto, I'd take them up on the 4 stroke offer. Once they start trying to "fix" the opti, the offer to switch will be gone and you'll be stuck with the opti at whatever level of "fixed" they determine acceptable.
Id stay with the Optimax. A lot less maintenance!! Are you still in break in? The Optimax is a really good motor, they just got a bad rap because people didnt understand how they worked when they where interduced.
