are genuine parts still available for an MC-1 bellows kit or am I stuck using aftermarket parts, and if so, can anyone recommend a good product?

Yes, OEM are still available... the preferred option would be you'd be looking for Merc part number 60932A-4 - Bellows Assembly or if needed aftermarket Sierra marine part number 18-2751.
Item number 14 (and maybe 19 too for the exhaust bellows), https://www.marineengine.com/parts/...e-19831990/6225577-thru-0d469858/bell-housing

And maybe item number 21 for the shift cable bellows, https://www.marineengine.com/parts/...mbal-housing-square-square-upper-swivel-shaft

You'd also want to have an stern drive install kit, service manual plus a few tools and a descent amount of time to help compleat this type of job.

Good to know they are still available. When I searched on the net, all I was coming up with was kits for the Alpha drives.
My younger son is a journeyman auto tech and he and I changed out the bellows on our newer boat with an Alpha 1 Gen 2 a couple of years ago so we know what is involved.
Thanks for your input.
