I will say . . . I'm fairly impressed with the simplicity of the Honda & Dometic tech stuff. There is only a fraction of the electronics and wiring behind the helm and elsewhere as compared to the all the Mercruiser stuff I had. . . . and the functionality is the same.

Starting the process to trade my Chap for a 2024 Formula 270 BR

Taking the Chap into dealer to fix the issues they messed up with paint and try to fix the single beep Com's issue. After that's done I'll haul it up and bring the Formula back

Surveyed one of these today! - it was a nice, well-made boat. Good quality construction, fittings, and rigging mostly - you will love it! This one had the 430 HP LT(?) 6.2 Ilmor GDI and it had a decent rumble at idle and a higher pitched note at WOT. About 50 MPH max, but it's a good-sized boat: very big and spacious (with lots of big boat systems) for "small boat" runabout day-boat type.

You will love the torque band (and note) of the 8.2 over the newer gen Gm motors. Good luck with it!

Does it have cats? They scare me, though probably not as big a deal in the fresh.

Anything this new on inboards will have cats sadly...they do cause hot-spots and some restrictions - more a maintenance issue.

Looks like the week of Oct 4 will be when I head to Michigan. I'm hoping to go up Sunday but depends when the trailer is being delivered. A venture trailer coming from Maryland do to arrive Monday the 5th but right now don't know when

I removed the starboard leg and pouched up the paint. It came off easy enough but going back on was rough for one person, so my buddy came over and went on.

Info for others which has the Verado, it can be done with one person but much easier with two. I'm old but the leg weights about 40 lbs. The manual says use a 15mm wrench to align it with F for clockwise and R for counter rotation legs. The legs are spring loaded to the rotation they are built for. So as you remove the leg "which is in neutral" (note DTS) moves to FWD or REV.

All power should be OFF including the Bat switch. To reinstall align the mark with F above (see pic). When the shift is moved with wrench and you can hear the gear box DTS rotate. Raise the leg into position and the key is need something on the propshaft to rotate it if needed. and I need to just a bit to get it the last inch



After install turn power ON then turn key ON and the DTS gear box moves it back into neutral
