The Cobalts are certainly worth considering. We were going to look at an R35, but I decided that the downward sloping bow was not going to be as ocean-friendly as I would like.

It also seems like folks are not afraid of towing the large boats these days. So, you may want the flexibility of being able to haul the boat around yourself.

Have always say never say never. But I never plan to own a boat that I don't haul my self. NO change here on the new ones were looking at

I can see that but for us with lake use only in Lake Tahoe, it's one of the easiest bow to see over of any boat I have ever owned. I never have to stand with our R5.

I had a chance to buy my neighbor's 28' Cobalt but 9'9" beam and twin engines were a big no for me. It was perfect condition and I could have bought it for $50K. Was around 10 years old. Just don't need twin engines on a lake.

Caveat, so long as the boat is under 6K lbs, right ?

Probably has to be new, but just noticed the 310 CBR is being built with OB. Std is 300 and can go up to 400R. Has vac-u-flush pump out head and anchor windless, so its in the mix.

More than likely which is why I didn't get one that big. Mine is 26' which is plenty.

R8 would be a nice size if I wanted one step bigger in a Cobalt. Twin outboards but way less maintenance than 2 sterndrives

Cortez Florida has their annual seafood festival. just look up either the Swordfish Grill or the Cortez Kitchen to get you to the area

I was good we got to the place early (before 11) and things were not to busy. Around 1 it was turning into a zoo so we headed out. Not much chance to get good pics with everything crammed together, and I'm not a good pic taker

Thanks for the pictures, I did not go to the local boat show and not sure I'm going to make it to FL for any of the ones down there. So, the pictures will suffice for my boat show fixation.

I usually wear my drinking shoes for boat shows - loosely tied sneakers that slip on & off.

How was the sticker shock? Any Cruisers Yacht Bowriders there? They have a 34 and 38 'GLS' now, which they seem to be pushing more than the 338's.

Many years ago, I met Scott Porter (Formula Boats Prez) at a boat show. At the time, he mentioned that the 330 CBR that was coming soon (not by name), but told me they had a replacement coming for the 330 SS.

Funny....

Had the same experience with buying my first boat. Went with my dad to all the name brands - none gave me the time of day. Then went to Bayliner. Guess who got the sale?

I let all the reps know that they lost a sale that year as they couldn't be bothered to give me the time of day. Following year, I think their sales people got the message as I couldn't beat the sales people away.

Might be on the smaller side but have you looked at Crownline??

Slightly used (2-4 years) may still be an option at about 2/3 the 'new' price. Yet there are some nice boats that have just come out in the past 1-2 years.
