Good day,

I have come across a boat which has been wasting away for 5 years in my storage yard and the owner never uses it, but he is open to offers. He states he paid 5000 for the boat several years ago, and would be willing to sell.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows what boat this is and if its worth the time, I've not really come across the Force outboard engine before either.

After looking around the boat it could do with a good clean but apart from that everything else still seems solid. Apparently the engine had been serviced 2 years ago also.

Hope someone can assist with this, thanks. Until then, I have finally got back to finishing my fletcher bravo!

Phil.

Force motors were actually decent. They ran well and were reliable, BUT they were an antique design.. Maxum is/ was a Bayliner product, so cheap boat. Sitting 5 years, rotting away, looks like mice/ rodents have been in it too I'd offer $500, but I bet he won't take it

Thanks for the reply!
The motor does look to be in a good condition, so I could get it turned over today and see how its running.
I cant imagine he would except that, but worth a try. It would be a nice little project if he would part with it.
Appreciate the info.

Be prepared for a rotten structure and transom. Boats of this era can be pretty ugly below deck. Foam is most likely soaked and rotted stringers. Looks like nice boat on the outside, albeit a definite project.

What model and year Maxum?
Mine is a 21 footer and there was no foam below deck. I am in the process of rebuilding now and converting mine to a fish and ski.

Stick to the fletcher. You’ll notice a serious drop in hull capability. If you do go got it...put some money aside for a replacement used merc. At least the trim pump can be saved though. They work on mercs too.
