Hi everyone. Just more of a because i wanna know question lol. I have a 92 maxum sr1900 . Nice boat in great shape for its age. Was curious about how they built it, more specifically how the supporting structures are built is the 4cyl and 6 cyl boats constructed the same. Are the stringers constructed for either motor or ate the motor specific.

I'm guessing you have the 3.0 and want to swap to the 4.3? I believe the stinger construction and all is the same, the motor mounts might be different but doubt it. I have a 2003 maxum 1900sr and looks like the motor mounts boxes are big/wide enough to fit both. Great way for them to save money manufacturing instead of making separate hull for both.

I would think that the motor mounts have to be different between an inline engine (4 cyl) and the V engines (6 & 8) cylinders, unless they have a configuration that suits either.

Agree, and like most boat hulls, it shouldn't take much to add what is needed to install a six

Ya i have the 3liter.. dont mind it does just shy of 37mph under propped.
I have played with the idea of 4.3 swap.
I know the 4cyl has a front engine mount and the v6 is side mount there is def enough room in there to put it. Whether or not the stringers were beefed up from day one to hold a 4.3 im not sure. Love the way it rides hull shape helps the 3.0 big time.
Would love to talk with some one who has had to repair there maxum or has done the v6 swap to this boat..

They typically make the layout so any motor option will fit if possible, but, like already mentioned, you can easily modify any part of it on your own. And being a 92' the motor mounts may need attention anyhow.
