:Hello Everyone,I have a 1996 112 HP SPL and my manual said the rpm range is between 4500 to 5500
the power pack max rpm is 5800
yet my boat will tach at 6000 rpms if I let it. Is that OK ? The engine sounds fine, speed is fine and it runs great but I can not get it to plane when in the boat alone but if I have some one sitting in the open bow it will plane out.
The boat is an 18" wellcraft bowrider and it has a 14" prop this is a new engine to the boat (used engined)
How ever the boat was built with the same exact year and hp engine which I have rebuilt and it is sitting in my garage. The existing engine has a 21" pitch prop and when I put that prop on I only get 3200 rpms and can not get the boat to plane and get no speed at all.
