mariner wiring help

hi all,
ive just got a 2005 4 stroke 15hp mariner electric start engine and need a bit of help with what goes where??

Ive fitted the throttle and gear cables into the engine and attached the power leads to the battery and it seems to start fine but there are a couple of other cables and i dont know what there for or where they go ?? im new to all this so you will have to explain in the simplest form possible, lol

thats just near the mainengine itself and i wondered what the small thin cable coming off it is for???

this is on a long cable coming from the engine???

and this is a short cable coming from the throttle/gear control box??



any help and advice would be great

thanks for reply gery but i really cant make heads or tales of the wiring diagrams
would i do damage to the engine if i ran it without connecting these wires up?
or iscould you tell me what i need to do with the wires and where they go?? as i said im new to all this(useless):facepalm:

What are the colours of the wires, the single one and the pair? Are they tan colour?

If they are tan, they are for:

Temperature Switch to Warning Horn and/or
Temperature Sender to Temperature Gauge

this is the control box i have

the 4 wires going into the above plug looking thing are black, grey, purple and there is a another wire in it that looks like it is an orangey brown color with a blue stripe and the single wire coming off it is the same orangey brown colour as you can see on photo

this double one is that same orangey brown colour with a white stripe and that orangey brown colour with a black stripe

and the single wire above is that orangey brown colour as you cn see in photo

could i run the engine without connecting these wires up if worse comes to worse or would it damage engine??

You could use a multi meter and check resistance using the Ohm setting if nothing else works. It will give you an idea what connects with what...

The wires coming out of the control box are for electric trim, your 15 doesn't have trim, so they aren't used.
The two tan wires coming out of the harness are for the oil pressure light if you want to add the light to your dash.
The single wire on the main harness at the engine connector is not used on your motor. It's for a trim gauge I believe. (brown/white stripe)
