Hello,
I'm looking for help with a 1986 Mariner 175 Idle stabilizer or low speed/high speed spark advance module. In servicing my engine, I noticed that the ~3 inches of the red wire coming from the outer switch box leading to the module has deteriorated/ maybe over current? The engine seems to run fine but thought this should be checked out and or replaced. I'm having difficulty finding a replacement as the module seems no longer available. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Most folks would say to remove the idle stabilizer and throw it away as far as you can.

That sounds good to me, never thought of completely eliminating the module. I just figured it was need for engine performance or something.

Thanks orf the reply, really appreciate it.
