I have a 9.9 4 stroke mariner 2000 model, it ran perfectly yesterday but not a peep today, fuel is getting to carb, no sparks! have put fingers in plug leads while turning over and not even a tingle, checked all connections and tried new plugs but not a single spark.
Is it coil or cdi most likely culprit? I'm guessing cdi as it's more expensive(Doh!) but any advice welcome.

Check the deadman switch. If it's even slightly tripped, you won't get any spark at all. The little plastic loop has to positioned exactly or the switch won't let the motor fire.

Kill switch has never been touched, it's an inland cruiser so no need for it, I've had the remotes completely disconnected and still no joy.
I'm pretty sure the cdi is grounded to kill the spark same as motorcycles so disconnecting should rule it out.
