I have a 1991 Mariner 150 Mag II that has had the voltage regulator removed prior to my acquisition. The S/N for the motor is 0D007837 and the supposed PN for the regulator is 18736A21. When I look up the wiring diagram for this installation it does not show a rectifier, but the motor does have a small rectifier installed on the top rear of the engine above
where the voltage regulator should be installed.
My question is, if I replace the regulator should I remove the rectifier?
