aside from gelcoats, the only paint that i like using is InterLux Brightsides or Pettit EasyPoxy...alot of people on here have been very happy with them

From what i've seen on here:
2-part paints: Interlux Perfection or DuPont Imron
1-part paints: Interlux Brightsides/Toplac or Pettit EasyPoxy

mainly, color selection....
the easypoxy yellow was more like school bus yellow/orange
the brightsides was a brighter yellow

Re: Marine Paint Sugestions

I am also planning to paint with brightside. I went to west marine and the guy there set me up with the 2 part primer, at the time i didn't think anything of it and just went with what he recomended. The more I read the more I think I should be using perfection with this primer and not brightside. I havent painted anything yet and would like to stay with brightside should i just return the primer and get the one part primekote? I think my boat is all original gelcoat should i just sand to bare glass or scuff? sorry to Hijack

Re: Marine Paint Sugestions

from Interlux's website, basically:
2-part primer + 2-part paint
or
1-part primer + 1-part paint

not recommended to mix the 2-part and 1-part systems
