72 triumph 3 cylinder can't tilt
3 button electric shift

Did tilt once but seems locked in down position

Also new ignition will not shut motor off (old one didn't either)

Need suggestions.

It looks like an electric tilt motor and pump was installed at one time.-----Also looks like an important mounting bracket for the outboard itself is missing.----Is there a little lever at the front of the motor that needs to be flipped over for manual tilt.-----Please be clear on what you have and what is missing / taken off the motor at this time.-----How did the motor work for you last season ?

Motor runs great , yes there is a lever where you say it should be but won't move

72 didn't have a tilt I think it was 73 evenrude did start using

Also you think a mounting bracket is not there

Some will argue.----Well I can see a mounting bracket as used in 72 is not there.-----But perhaps someone used a different technique.----Folks are very creative these days.----And yes it does show an electric tilt bracket installed but no motor and pump !!----You may think that they only started with electric tilt in 73 .---But I know that they had those for models in the mid 1960's.----And clearly shown as an option for 65 HP model in ---1972 accessories ----catalogue !!

On a 1972 model 65 HP the plugs should be YELLOW.-----So work / modifications have been made.---All bets are off !-----If this thing was in front of me I could likely sort it out.----Was working on outboards before yours came out of the factory.

If I'm not mistaken the yellow is electric shift. I'm with racer, the bracket that holds the motor on the boat on the starboard side is missing. The trim pin is also missing. Maybe that allowed it to go down to far and it's just stuck.

If down too far what is best way to get it unstuck,
