manual choke question

I have a 87 60 hp evinrude well the problem is It wont start with out taking the cover off and flipping the red dial "choke?" and then the engine will start but its a pain in the butt to do this everytime at the boat ramp any thought been doing this for two years now just recently put new gaskets in the carbs and float, needle, and seats. any ideas?

If this is an electric start does it have the electronic choke in key ignition?

electric start but it has the choke where the forward and reverse is there is a choke you pull up but dont think its electric

Try pushing your key in and hold in as you start it. A lot of chokes were designed that way. It if does go in have some check motor to see if it activates choke? If it starts then you will have your answer. Just a thought.

That our perhaps your something is loose in lever connection or back at motor.

Man I have no Idea how it's been missed all these years, It works great should have came here sooner
