Mako floors

I am looking at the new Makos. i noticed that they have a balsa cored floor, which is the only wood they have . Any older makos out there that have had floor problems? bob

Hi, As a 21ft 1983 owner, I`m luky to say I haven`t had problems with the floor.
But it IS common in older Makos. Usually starting out as "soft spots".

I have a 89' mod 260 w/a and my floors are still solid.

i have a 1977 170cc mako and floor is still solid. i must say this is a very well built boat. i will miss it when it sells

I have a 1979 and have a few hairline cracks but the floor is very sturdy.

I have a 1982 20B.
Floors are still solid.
Spongy floors are one of the deal-breaker symptoms when shopping for an old mako, unless you want a project boat.
