Re: Make floatable & comfy...cabin build help
Welcome to the dry dock, Joannekay...
If this is a boat originally made of fiberglass or wood, you should be able to modify almost any way you want...
If it is constructed using any other materials, it can still be modified, albeit using different techniques, which the members will also be able to point out...
All of the basic information on how to do it is here on this forum and the members will be more than happy to give you advice on how to proceed...
One of the things we love here and are quite addicted to is pictures...one of the preferred ways of posting your pics here is with the use of a Free Photobucket account...this link will give you the details...
http://forums.iboats.com/boat-resto...r/how-tos-other-great-information-288451.html
There is also a bunch of helpful info available in the above link...read through some of it...
The most basic considerations are not to over load the basic hull design with too much added weight or to create a design which could make the boat unstable...ie, top heavy, etc...
Also keep in mind what you want to use this boat for...fishing, floating, cruising...inland waterways or ocean going, and so on...
Make a plan, modify it as you learn more, then finally, dig in and get it done...we'll be here to help and watch along the way.
Have Fun and Happy Boating,
GT1M
