Can someone point me in the right direction to find a tester? My LU is leaking oil so I ordered a seal kit but before I tear into this thing I want to replace the fill/drain seals then pressure/leak test it first.
It looks and smells like LU oil. I haven't pulled the drain/fill plugs yet but the guy I got the motor from said it needs new seals (course the motor sat for a few years as well which is why I want to change the crush seals first then test it)
I have one of those roadside-emergency air compressors with a built-in pressure gauge. I had some 1/4" pvc (drip irrigation) hose laying around that just happens to make an airtight fit into the compressor discharge valve. And the hose/fitting from my gear oil refill pump slides right over that. Couple zip ties -- works like a charm.
I bought a pressure-vacuum tester on Ebay for about 40 bucks.
I'll see if i can find the seller.
It works great,has the gauge and adapters for different threads.
