If I wasn't going to Pittsburgh this weekend to visit my family I would most definitely be joining you.

My boat will see the water next weekend even if I have to drag it to the ramp with no wheels and paddle it away from shore!!!

Hoping to get the boat in the water this weekend. Need to give it the first run of the season. Going to keep close eye on weather today. Doesn't look good.

We did our first run today on Lake Clarke everything ran fine. We put in around 9:00 am cold and misty and the water was rough, At that time I could only count 4 or 5 small fishing boats, we got over to the sand bar around 11:30 no boats:D when we did a 12 mile loop.. we set up the water trampoline for the kids and they swam water temp was around 67. the wife and i waded a little but it was too cold for our old bones we cooked some dogs and drank cool-aid, the sun came out a-little it turned out to be a OK day, it was better than stayn at home and doing yard work.

Hey Gang,
I just recently joined both the forum and boating world. We just got a new 20' Sweetwater pontoon boat with a 90HP Yamaha. We are keeping it down at Long Level Marina and have had it out 3 or 4 times so far. Any info you can share about Lake Clarke for boating and fishing will be appreciated.

Looking forward to gettin to know everyone.

Welcome Steve.
Hope to meet you soon. Can't give you much help because I am learning also.
Maybe we need some kind a flag to say we belong to Iboats.:)

Re: Lower Susquehanna

It just figures, tonight is the only time this weekend we can get out and there is a 70% of showers and storms. Im not throwing in the towel yet, I will make that call after work 3 or so.....I dont mind a sprinkle or 2 in the day when on the water, but we plan on staying out all night and kinda dont want to be out in the middle of the lake in a down pour in the dark .
Mother nature is not cooperating with my boating schedule at all this year so far.

Re: Lower Susquehanna

We got in the water around 7:00pm Friday the water was like glass, we decied to go to WOT actually got to 57mph on gps 54 on speedo I never made it past 46.5 under normal daytime water conditions so that was a treat,,,, there was a few boats and it was beautiful and no rain, kept watching the radar though.......when it got dark we moored up between shad a rookery islands for the night the catfish were hitting like crazy in 10' of water between the red channel markers.. we caught about 35 and kept 18 basicly a fish on every cast the biggist one was caught by my wife 31" all but 12 were 20 and over.. ......3 dozen worms 2 dozen shiners gone by 2:00 am. It turned out to be a good night and we slept well. We pulled out about 9 this morning as the mob was heading in.

Did you guys see the new obstruction between lock 2 and the longlevel marina, at just about dusk it looks like the Lockness monster "really":D. I Just got done cleaning the fish gotta take a shower ewwwwwwwwww. Have a good weekend guys!!.

EZ, did you make it out??? we were looking for you but didnt see anything close to your boat.....

With the weather looking so dicey we decided to go out in the morning. We were out around 10:30-11:30. Just a quick test run. Boat ran awesome. We did see Nessie :) I made the same comment to my wife. I wished I could have predicted the nice evening we ended up having and gone out when I originally planned.

The boat's all cleaned up and ready to head to Conowingo tomorrow.

Re: Lower Susquehanna

We were out on Saturday evening for a couple of hours and most all day yesterday. Had a lot of fun but we don't know much about the river yet.

We're also thinking about getting a Tube sometime this summer to pull. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for brands/types?

Re: Lower Susquehanna

WOW!!!!
Interesting afternoon on the susky.
No sooner got out and it started to rain. Anchored and road it out.
Made a couple runs, dropped 3 off and picked up the rest of the family.
Started to rain again but with lightning and thunder.
Finally got the boat back on the trailer and one heck of a storm hit!
I am beginning to think that I am not suppose to own a boat.:(
