lower housing oil leak

never done this before so pls feed me all caveats. i understand bad seal cause leakage thru lower drain hole. now do i replace lower pump & impeller as well as gaskets? any other seals? do i need to go into the upper housing? '90 alpha 1 drive.

i need a very detailed alpha 1 drive manual "for dummies" im really fearful of openig a can of worms that i can't close. any suggestions?

you need mercruiser service manual #6 for an alpha1 drive...

careful though. i think 91 was the change to alpha1 genII. if ya happen to have a genII you need service manual #14.

these service manuals have the exact how to do's in them along with pics...

those manuals used to be in sticky notes but lst iem time i checked they weren'y accessible. so where can i get manual #6. ihave teh 90 gen 1.
