Top secret info. Folks don't want to tell. Keeps us guessing. God only knows what they do with incorrect information because responders confuse motors.it would be best if we knew what 60HP yamaha he was talking about
that is not what you started out sayingSorry, I've been away. It's a T60 2017. Impeller replaced last year. Pees fine at idle. WOT for 7 miles, (20 minutes) then abrupt slow idle, but alarm doesn't come on, which doesn't make sense if it's too hot. Intermittent. I'll try the start position with lanyard off.
I don't know what you mean? I wanted to clarify that after running WOT for 20 minutes in warm Florida water, it should overheat when I go to idle. But it doesn'tthat is not what you started out saying
When I'm at idle speed, sometimes I get a loud warning tone. 20ft Sunchaser with 60hp Yamaha. Motor isn't overheating - I still have peeing and runs nomally at speed.
your title on this thread says you have a loud warning tone at idle.I don't know what you mean? I wanted to clarify that after running WOT for 20 minutes in warm Florida water, it should overheat when I go to idle. But it doesn't
The alarm is intermittent. Comes on at random times. I'm guessing a shortyour title on this thread says you have a loud warning tone at idle.
now you say "Pees fine at idle. WOT for 7 miles, (20 minutes) then abrupt slow idle, but alarm doesn't come on,"
I am confused on what you are saying also.
does the alarm sound or not?
The alarm is intermittent. Comes on at random times. I'm guessing a short
No that's when I enter an idle speed zoneso what does this mean?
WOT for 7 miles, (20 minutes) then abrupt slow idle, but alarm doesn't come on.
does the motor drop RPM by itself?
I understood exactly what you meant. Is the alarm just for over heating? Could it be low oil or something? I agree that after 20 min WOT then back to idle, it should over heat then if over heating is really the problem. As said above, could be an electrical problem. No that's when I enter an idle speed zone
That sounds like the answer that makes the most sense for this behavior. I'll try to find out if the T60 can have temp and pressure gauges hooked upOK this should be a T60LB if the OP gave the proper info.
being a 4 stroke motor it has oil pressure sensors.
from what I have read in the past if the oil pressure gets out of the RPM/oil pressure range the ecu is programed to have,
either too low or too high it can sound an alarm.
some motors have a water in fuel alarm but I think that only sounds if your in neutral
