Lotto starts at $2M. If I play, I usually play lotto because the odds are better and I'll be good with $2M. I'm buying a PowerBall ticket for the next drawing though. I think if I won any of them I'd get a lawyer, talk to an accountant (probably my brother) and my financial advisor before showing up for my money.

It's a dream as long as you don't go out and get into hock up to your neck counting on the dream coming true.. LOL
A few years ago a guy and his wife figured out if they sold everything and borrowed as much as they could and buy tickets they would make a killing. The net result was they reduced their net worth to about a quarter of the pre-lottery plan. And didn't have a pot because they owed on the loans.
Unlike the restaurant workers, those are the 1/13 numbers drawn.

It's been 2 1/2 hours and still no official word. It will be over $2B if no one hits. I just want these stupid news reports about how much a winner takes home. They make it sound like several hundreds of millions of dollars puts a winner in the poor house.
The Ca. lottery website doesn't show a winner. But anything is possible. I remember a winner a few years ago who either had a fake winning ticket or a modified ticket. I think their room and board is free for them now.
