Made a bet with co workers. If I win the total lottery, I would pay you 150K. If you win, you would pay me 150k. What would you do if you won?

Worry about it after you win or they win. Odds are all of you will be going to a bar and commiserating over the lost opportunity. I'll be there, so buy me a drink. :D.

Sure: I will pony up a drink, but do you want in on this bet? First five posters to say yes....and you're on the bet.

If you are referencing Powerball, you could bet with 2,600 co workers and still have a chunk left over after taxes.

If you are referencing any other lottery, you might go bankrupt like a majority of the winners do.

I say yes to the deal to the OP.

They just auctioned off a winning lottery yesterday in bankruptcy court. The owner of the ticket went bankrupt, he also is spending a few years in the clink. Embezzled from his own company.

The ticket pays $1000 per month for the life of the guy that bought it. He is 73 years old. The ticket was bought in court for $40,000. The guy has to live 5 years to make any money on the ticket.

Not sure I understand the difference between option #2 and #3.

I hope I win tomorrow so I can honor the bet!

Is that a Yes?

And this is the Power Ball....Takes a lot of trust to do this, but I will trust my fellow water borne fisher men before anyone...

1 in 292,000,000 are the odds of winning. With odds like that, where is the bet? If you are that 1, good on you. But most likely you and all of us will be going to work on Monday, not to the state lottery office. :blue:

Me - I'm buying a new beer fridge when I win :D

If I win a half a billion dollars you can bet a whole bunch of people are going to be getting money from me!

I wouldn't even tell anyone I won if I did. But I only play lotto because the odds are better. Not like it matters though cause I haven't won any of them.

Not me, I'm hiring a scantily clad coed to mix bloody marys for me.

I usually buy a MegaBucks ticket about once a month.
Odds are better, 1:6,991,908

But it generally only pays 45 - 100k per year, because the jackpot rarely gets over 3 million.

You'd likely do better hiring a Mike Rowe doppelganger to rob a bank.

I would not make the bet, and I would get very used to saying no I am not giving you money. Not to be selfish either but you can not imagine how many people would feel that you should take care of their money issues because you happened to win.

I would wait a while to claim it. I think you have a year(wouldn't wait that long). Get my ducks in a row and be packed and leave the state when I go to collect. In WI they release your name if you win. And I believe you're pasted all over tv. Hence the quick exit out of dodge....:car:.....2016 Ford GT....:)

I honestly have no idea about the initial bet query, but I can say that I will have won exactly as much as everyone else on these forms and I haven't even bought one ticket. I mean I probably have as much of a chance of being hit squarely in the head with a meteor then winning the lottery. I have to honestly say, I really wouldn't want to be bothered with all the publicity that certainly would come from such a win. Just not my style. And since I really don't need any money to live my comfortable living, I equally don't play as well. JMHO!

Actually there is no bet involved. It is nothing more than a a gentleman's agreement to share the largess. That is until one of the gentlemen has to pony up.

There are ways to claim incognito. It takes the right lawyers.

But still, because the odds of a single winner is slim, I'm following Musky out of Dodge! Just not sure which mode of transport. Maybe I'll leave on a jet plane. :D
