Lost the yoke

Please give us information about engine brand (Chrysler or Force), Hp and model number.
The LUs are different from models, Hp etc.

Take it apart and use marine assembly grease to make sure the yoke stays on the rod.
Always include Year, model, serial# location and any other info that might help?

This is a 1987 US Marine 125HP Model# 1251X7B Serial# 2529..Prolly just simply have to disassemble the thing...Another engineering design genius idea, I'm surprised I haven't seen more about this specific issue happening in my searches. I might just open up the drain hole to the size of the Yoke and then thread and plug it back. What ya think?

You have two options.
First pull the LU from the engine, remove the water impeller housing then remove the top cover of the gear case.
Then maybe you can catch the yoke and put it in place using marine grease.
BUT be very careful when you remove the top cover, you maybe break it if it is tight at the LU.
Second option and in my opinion the best is to disassemble the LU by remove the bearing carrier, reverse gear and the whole prop shaft with the clutch dog.
Find the yoke and put it at the shift pin with marine grease, then you have to wiggle the prop shaft in through the forward gear and try to get the shift fork to catch the yoke and the reset the pin screw for the shift shaft/fork.
It can be a PIA but it is doable.
I have done it several times.
Be patient.

Im at your Second half already I removed this whole thing to check the clutchdog and gears for wear when the yoke dropped behind I guess forward gear. or the furthest back area. And I am @ a loss as to how to get this thing out..I have thought ( in earlier post) that if I was able to remove the drain plug and bore it out to the size of the yoke and then the rethread at the new size but im not sure how much pressure there is and the thickness of the al there.

Ive heard the gasket is impossible to find for these, but I guess I also thought that alot of stuff could fall out Im not sure where goes. I might as well take it apart and see what happens..Ill grab a seloc somewhere..
