I hope someone can help me!!!!!!
I have a 1971 Mercury 650 4 cyl outboard. I've changed the wiring harness on the motor, new rectifier, new plug wires, cleaned both carbs, new fuel lines, rebuilt the fuel pump, new coil, repired the mag, repaired the stator, new timing belt. The motor will run great setting the in the driveway, of course you can't fish in my driveway. Everytime we take it to the lake to try it out it will not get up the RPM's like it should and there's not enough power to get it up on plan. Sometimes it will and when it does it will run about 40 MPH guessing. Has a hard time running a idle while in th ewater also.
Could my timing be off 1 or 2 notches retarded???
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!
