Re: Looking to become a Q6 owner in the off season
I have seen cracks in the gel coat before. You can fix them and there are many threads in the forum regarding this. Some people leave them and don't fix them unless they get worse.
In regards to the discoloration on the inside of the sundeck/engine cover. First: Take the sundeck/engine cover off of the boat. Second use some soap and water and try cleaning it. I have used dish soap and it worked on my other boat. Simple Green brand also worked. If that does not work try a mild bleach solution but wash it off as soon as you see the discoloration fading.
Now, the yellow coloring on the seat will probably fade from being in the sun. In my other boat I tried many things to remove coloring from the interior only to make it worse. I would remove the seat and set it in the sun.
The hinge can be fixed. I would see how bad the holes are "rounded out" and see if some epoxy would work in there first. Maybe someone else has a better idea.
