Looking for stowage solutions

I like to stow items such as type 2 PFDs, anchor and lines under the bench seats long term. However, these areas are not water tight so I need some kind of deck cover that will allow water to drain away and keep stowed items elevated to allow air flow.
I'm thinking some kind of grid material would work well but haven't been able to find anything online.
Looking for ideas and success stories.
